Norwegian producer Andy LaPlegua’s 2007 Combichrist record is a gleeful yet caustic assault on media culture and social decay – and one of the most physically relentless albums in the aggrotech canon. Club hammers like “Get Your Body Beat” and “Shut Up And Swallow” sit alongside the malevolent industrial crunch of “Brain Bypass” and “Deathbed.” It sounds like a club night that got slightly out of hand, intentionally and triumphantly so.
